Yes, but as has been explained, there are multiple ways in which a
browser can be chosen. Some, most notably, circumventing system
preferences.
Here, some programs pull up something other than what I would prefer(1).
I can't be bothered to track it all down, and removing browsers may not
be an option because, as we know, many web sites are so poorly written
that they only work in a small subset of the set "All Known Browsers".
:-(
(1) One even fires up Konqueror!
