    sudo journalctl -e -b -1

after reboot (or with proper boot ID in the past) and maybe scroll up. (or, before reboot, ssh from another machine and "sudo journalctl -e") It might give a hint what was the cause of freezes. It may be e.g. GPU driver crash.

Various hardware issues like overheating or failed RAM should be eliminated as well.

Starting Firefox in safe mode might help to change startup settings (however I am not completely sure). Removing Firefox folders with loosing all settings should be the last resort measure. It is better to try to create a new Firefox profile at first.
