It is not possible to safely run any operating system on the same machine where another operating system of unknown provenance has been run. The potential for compromise extends down as far as the machine's firmware and out to all attached devices. Pirated software routinely contains malware. Without a security boundary such as a hypervisor you have to trust all operating systems you run on any given piece of hardware.
