It doesn't break the thread unless your client is not honouring
RFC822 headers.

I don't recall seeing any posts here with [DEBIAN…].

There are easier ways of filtering list posts with headers other
than the subject line.

The threads in this list frequently get so vast, and bifurcate
so many times, that you can't really expect future readers to
work their way through all of the posts just on the off chance
that there may be a solution somewhere near the end of one
subthread or another.
