Are you using Gnome on your Debian 12 computer?
If it is a Logitech, maybe Solaar would work?
Solaar is a Linux device manager for Logitech's Unifying Receiver wireless
peripherals. It is able to pair/unpair devices to the receiver, and for
some devices to read battery status.
If you are using Gnome and a Logitech Wireless keyboard, then:
# apt install solaar-gnome3
