You should undo that. There's no reason to switch your philosophy at this point. I did not say that you SHOULD use hostnames with dots in them. I said that SOME PEOPLE use hostnames with dots in them, and that IF you are one of those people, there's an extra step to perform. I don't have any idea how this was so misunderstood.
