This should work well with mdadm or ZFS managing the disks. The docs at https://lenovopress.com/lp1050-thinksystem-sr650-server-xeon-sp-gen2 are not precisely clear on what SAS/SATA adapter is included, but it appears to be an LSI chipset that should be supported. -dsr-
