This eliminates the ethernet cable and the printer part of the issue. The remaining component of the transport system is the backend filter. Test it with lp -d XXX -o raw out.dat This sends out.dat to the printer without going through the filtering system. XXX is the queue name. You probably know what it is or it can be obtained from below. Also provide the outputs of lpstat -t and lpinfo -v -- Brian.
