[...] The repository http://ppa.edx.org/ doesn't have a file named "Release". Actually, it seems to be inaccessible (Release is the first file your installer tries to access, that's why this error comes up front). If I try to access the repo from here, I always get "Forbidden". My guess is that you might need a slightly different URL for your edx repository.
