I have the e-book 'Beginning Photo Retouching and Restoration Using GIMP' (it used to be freely downloadable from it-ebooks.info, but that seems to have gone). The book says: 'Resynthesizer is actually a suite of scripts, but the one that you'll be using is called Heal Selection'.
