I found something else.

On my computer that has a working internet connection

netstat -rn

shows

Kernel IP routing table
Destination          Gateway         Genmask            Flags   MSS   
    Window  irtt  Iface
0.0.0.0                 0.0.0.0            0.0.0.0                 U  
           0        0             0    ppp0
203.218.189.254 0.0.0.0            255.255.255.255 UH           0     
   0             0    ppp0

On one of my computers that can't be connected to the internet (didn't
check the second one) the line

0.0.0.0                 0.0.0.0            0.0.0.0                 U  
           0        0             0    ppp0

is missing. What does this mean? Is this the cause of the problem? How
do I fix it?
