One thing I'm going to do is something I should have done five years ago: Find all daemons that need to be run, but not necessarily at boot time, remove them from Systemd's (or Sysinitv's) management, and have DJB's Daemontools manage them. The ssh daemon is a perfect example, and so is httpd. The Dovecot daemon. Networkmanager or wicd. In my opinion, there's no reason to have these managed by the init system: Daemontools is the ideal place to manage stuff like this. Another thing I'll do that I should have done five years ago is shut off all the useless daemons. Exactly why am I running a bluetooth daemon on my non-bluetooth desktop? Perhaps because I just accepted whatever the default install gave me. I will get very, very good at setting up Daemontools services and using Daemontools, and very knowledgeable in how to tell Systemd not to run certain daemons.
