But, is there is more than one desktop paradigm? I do not think so.
There are multiple interfaces to do the same thing, but they are all
based on the same desktop paradigm. The problem is that, there is at
least one other really different paradigm (like tiling or mobile
interfaces, which do not use the desktop paradigm: they do not simulate
tons of paper stacked randomly on a desktop with waste of space, because
they try to optimize screen's space.).
