It's the same for DAT. A faulty old DVDRAM drive usually doesn't damage the DVDRAMs. > A few out of several hundred. I've had worse failure rates from other media. The same as for DAT, sure, after one tape is busted I don't play my other tapes with this drive anymore, so only one tape from a few hundred is damaged.
