Yes, I just dist-upgraded to wheezy. I was so baffled by the gnew Gnome that I launched "Help" from the Accessories menu. Help tells me I am supposed to have the items I listed in my Subject: heading, i.e. if i may repeat myself, Activities, Dash, Hot-corner.
None of these entities seem to exist on my new Gnome. I have searched debian-user for this problem and come up empty handed. Sorry if I missed a really useful discussion of my situation, but can anyone steer me to a gnewbies Gnome How-To that addressed Wheezy's Gnome?
