Hmm. I have run

$ dos2unix -n MG.cue 1.cue 
dos2unix: converting file MG.cue to file 1.cue in Unix format ...

The new created file size does not seem to have any difference w/ the
primary one, its size is also the same. When I tried to split, I still
get:

bad character '�'
bad character '�'
bad character '�'
