It looks right ("gnome", "gnome fallback", "xfce" and "default" options
should be visible).

Let's see... at the login greeter window you have to click on your user
name (richard) and then the available sessions will be visible from a
dropdown menu.
Are you doing it in that way? If yes and still no dropdown button, can
you upload a snapshot?
