This might mean that this camera is not recognized/supported, at least with the Etch's version of gspca. The best thing to look for are the USB device and vendor IDs, what do you get when you run "lsusb" with the camera plugged in? Also, it might help to see all the syslog entries related to the camera. You can run tail -fn0 /var/log/syslog then plug in the camera and wait at least 30 seconds. Post all the messages that appear. If the device is recognized and supported then the module should be loaded automatically with the help of the information in modules.usbmap in your kernel's module directory.
