I recommend checking Ebay, which seems to have plenty of inexpensive hardware modems available. I bought a 16 bit PC card Xircom which has been working perfectly, with no drivers other than the basic in kernel modules necessary. See this list [in particular, the section "Modem and serial cards"]: http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS > After that I think I know how to configure it, I found a page on it... > I just want to make sure I don't get one of those stupid win modems... If you get a hardware modem, no special configuration of the modem should be necessary. Just point your apps to the appropriate serial port, and you'll be good to go. > Daniel Dalton Celejar -- mailmin.sourceforge.net - remote access via secure (OpenPGP) email ssuds.sourceforge.net - A Simple Sudoku Solver and Generator -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
