I installed both octave and octave-forge (2.9 branch) thru synaptic. Under octave:
octave:1> pkg list no packages installed. octave:2> pkg load odepkg # as in the documentation error: package odepkg is not installed error: evaluating if command near line 1824, column 7 error: evaluating for command near line 1822, column 5 error: evaluating if command near line 1809, column 3 error: called from `pkg:load_packages' in file `/usr/share/octave/2.9.19/m/pkg/pkg.m' error: evaluating switch command near line 243, column 3 error: called from `pkg' in file `/usr/share/octave/2.9.19/m/pkg/pkg.m' How is that it is not installed? it is installed! e.g. synaptic shows: /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/ode23.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/ode45.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/ode78.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/penddot.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/pendulum.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/rk2fixed.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/rk4fixed.m /usr/share/octave/site/api-v22/m/octave2.9-forge/ode/rk8fixed.m I read in the octave-forge documentation that it is possible to download and install packs one by one, but I prefer to have them through apt-get/synaptic. I am working with the current version of etch. Is something missing? I didn't get any warning when I installed them. Thanks Tomas Revilla
