The text quoted in http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/gerv/archives/006193.html is a text that has been added as agreed on with the Debian maintainers in order to fend a GPL violation from SuSE. The two other quoted articles verify that lwn is an enemy of OSS, it is pure FUD.
