Never used a mac so don't know xcode but Bluefish
http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/
is a fairly simple editor with syntax highlighting for many languages or
perhaps Eclipse http://www.eclipse.org might suit you better. Plenty of
plugins for various langs but somewhat steeper learning curve.
