Actually, the clear implication is that I consider the military occupation of 170 different countries by the US to be reprehensible, which causes me to wonder what the peoples so occupied think of it. If you want to get really picky, neither Cuba nor the Philipines were ever included in the "expanding borders" of the US, compared for instance with Hawaii, but those two examples of military conquest by the US were not picked out of the pile I presented. I agree that the US did not specifically "expand the border" into every example of military conquest I gave. So you and I do not actually disagree. It remains, however, that I do wonder how those folks feel about the continued military occupation of their country. I certainly would not be happy with, say, French military bases in New Jersey.
