Proposals definitely have more impact when prepared with LaTeX, ime; especially when responding to competitive tenders where the visual quality of the report will help it float to the top of the pile. Given the choice between two identical hire cars, who would choose the one covered in cow poo over the buffed and waxed shiny number?
