They are not linked.
NewbieDOC started out as a Sourceforge project for Debian newbie
documentation in 2001. It had an email list and a series of Docbook
style articles (which are still available in the Debian "newbiedoc"
package). The project declined and became virtually unmaintained. It was
moved to Berlios a year ago as a wiki using Mediawiki software after
Sourceforge upgraded PHP and made the original unmaintained website
unworkable. (There are technical problems running wikis on Sourceforge,
hence the move to Berlios.) The original project files remain at
Sourceforge as per their terms and conditions. They can be accessed from
the NewbieDOC wiki or by using their original Sourceforge URLs. The
Sourceforge newbiedoc list is closed.
Anyone interested in contributing to or developing the NewbieDOC project
would be very welcome.
