I'm trying to set up Xen on a sarge box, using the guide at http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/423
All went well until I rebooted. When Xen boots, the last line I see is "(XEN) Xen trace buffers: disabled" and then the box reboots itself. A quick Google suggested booting with "noreboot sync_console" to make sure that I'm seeing all of the messages. Well I am -- this doesn't seem to be a problem with the dom0 kernel, it seems to be a Xen issue. But I'm not sure how to diagnose, let alone fix this. ravens:~# COLUMNS=160 dpkg -l \*xen\* | grep ^i ii linux-headers-2.6.17-2-xen 2.6.17-9~bpo.1 ii linux-headers-2.6.17-2-xen-686 2.6.17-9~bpo.1 ii linux-image-2.6.17-2-xen-686 2.6.17-9~bpo.1 ii linux-modules-2.6.17-2-xen-686 2.6.17-9~bpo.1 ii xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386 3.0.2+hg9697-0bpo1 ii xen-tools 2.3-1~bpo.1 ii xen-utils-3.0 3.0.2+hg9697-0bpo1 Xen grub entry: title Xen 3.0-i386 / Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.17-2-xen-686 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/xen-3.0-i386.gz module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-2-xen-686 root=/dev/hda1 ro console=tty0 module /boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-2-xen-686 savedefault Working non-Xen entry: title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.17-2-686 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-2-686 root=/dev/hda1 ro initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-2-686 savedefault -- Chris Howie http://www.chrishowie.com -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GCS/IT d-(--) s:- a-->?
