Good question Micha. I didn't notice it until you asked. Seems it is time to shift to texlive now. However, if I remove tetex, all the following packages would be removed: auctex* cjk-latex* dvi2ps* dvipdfmx* hevea* latex2html* latex2rtf* and I didn't find any substition packages begin with texlive, execpt texlive-pdfetex. I can't live without the above tools. Does anyone has the solution?
