first sarge already comes with a 2.6.8 kernel wihich is 2.6... i have two sarge systems running kernels 2.6.17.6 and 2.6.17.11... you may have to update some packages though... (udev from sarge for example does not work with kernel above 2.6.12 i think, you will need newer module-init-tools and initrd-tools won't work with kernels >=2.6.17 (devfs was finally removed) that said, there are also precompiled 2.6.16 packages from backports.org for example (where the packages for the updated arge nstaller with 2.6.16 kernel come from)so...it can be done certainly if you don't forget some things... yours Albert - -- Albert Dengg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFE7zX7hrtSwvbWj0kRAj1HAJ0fkgSwjwRxFT7FEr5ipSttTqehbwCcDPAZ tMwROi3FvV/3j+YaDwB4o4k= =jqud -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
