I had the same problem with a G400 and solved it by installing a 2.6.16 kernel (debian package did it for me). With a 2.6.15 kernel I got this in my /var/log/Xorg.0.log: (II) MGA(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler (II) MGA(0): [DRI] installation complete (EE) MGA(0): [drm] Failed to map DMA buffers list (II) MGA(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel (II) MGA(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0xf8aad000 at 0xb50e4000 (WW) MGA(0): Direct rendering disabled With 2.6.16 it works just fine: (II) MGA(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler (II) MGA(0): [DRI] installation complete (II) MGA(0): [drm] Mapped 128 DMA buffers (II) MGA(0): [drm] dma control initialized, using IRQ 177 (II) MGA(0): Direct rendering enabled I googled for that error message and it seems that more people have this problem, also with Xorg 6.9 (I have 7.0 here), so it is probably a bug. The kernel I used before the 2.6.15 was a 2.6.11, DRI worked back then. I couldn't find any specific information what exactly was the problem. Maybe someone knows what caused it, which kernel version were affected and how it was solved? Greets, Frank
