No, if you want to change profiles that much, you have to use something like cpufreqd or acpi scripts, yes. BTW, ondemand is never a good idea IMHO, it is very hard on the power electronics in the motherboard and generates a lot of electric noise (and sometimes, acoustic noise). -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
