Please don't do that, it's disruptive to the flow of conversation, your new text should come *after* the text you're responding to, with the text of what you're responding to trimmed down to exclude material that you aren't responding to. This allows the reader to much more clearly follow the conversation if for some reason they did not receive or read all the messages in the thread.
