I guess it should. But to tell you the truth, I cannot see a package
named "linux-image-2.4.27" anywhere, only "kernel-image-2.4.27". Either
I am blind, or such package does not exist in Debian. I am a little
confused here...
The confusion runs deeper! When I compiled my _own_ 2.4.27, the custom package created is called 'linux-image-2.4.27_<customized bits>'. The 2.4.27 _source_ package is still called 'kernel-image-2.4.27'. It gets better. The 2.6.x source package _used_ to be called 'kernel-source-2.6.x'. The last one so called, I think, was 2.6.8. The name changed to 'linux-source-2.6.x' so that aptitude, when asked for the current version of kernel-source-2.6.x reported that there was none available!! Not a smooth transition.
