As it was not working I purged splashy and reinstlled it. Now I get
msg during boot splashy server.
I also get from boot log as below
lvgdell600m:~# cat /var/log/boot|grep splashy
Sat Feb 18 12:52:59 2006: Starting splash: splashy
But no splash screen
