reconfigure, and reinstall the Mozilla package, but that does not
work. I was going to completely remove Mozilla (including the config
files) and then reinstall, but this was not an option with the Debian
package system. The entire Gnome Windows Desktop Environment relies
upon Mozilla; so, removing Mozilla would also remove the entire
Desktop Environment of my computer.
It's probably the "gnome" package that is dependent on Mozilla, not the
"entire Gnome Windows Desktop Environment"; the difference is that
"gnome" is a virtual package that makes for easy installation of the
entire Gnome experience; removal of the virtual package does not
actually remove any of the Gnome stuff; it only removes the "easy
installer option" for Gnome. (Others have explained it much better than
I just did.)
As I understand it, an extension can be installed system-wide or on a
per-user basis. If your extension is installed for your user rather than
for system-wide, removing/reinstalling Mozilla won't do you a bit of
good, as that affects the system-wide stuff.
You might try creating a new user and logging in as that user and firing
up Mozilla; is Tabbrowser installed?
Then report back.
