Thanks. This did work. I had installed the extension globally; so, I had to remove files from both my home directory, and from /var/lib/mozilla/chrome as well. I did this, rebooted, and then started Mozilla up. I was a bit alarmed at Mozilla's initial non-functionality, but after reinstalling, it went back to normal, with the tabbrowser extension gone.
