Yes, that was me back with Fedora Core 2 (it seems like ages ago, but
it's only been a little more than a year). The issue then was with the
2.6.8 kernel, and the solution was to back down to a 2.6.7 kernel. I
posted a solution at this site:

Initially, I thought that a similar solution would have worked for me
with Debian, also, so I installed the 2.4.27 kernel, but was unable to
get burning down with that kernel either.
