That didn't work for me either. Here is the output from three different
runs of cdrecord with different dev names, and after setting the
/etc/default/cdrecord line to /dev/hdc:

Could this be a hardware compatibility problem with this drive and
Debian (since other distributions see the drive as a burner and can burn
without an issue)?
