No problem. I've got debian on an Intel 486sx with 8MB FPM RAM. Sure, it thrashes a lot and is really only useful for routing, but it runs. (and apt-get doesn't die with mmap errors like the rh/rpm port does with 96MB EDO RAM) What do you intend to use this machine for? It will surely suffice for common console-based operation (familiarizing yourself with *nix, client-side email handling, web browsing, text editing).
