The purpose of a maililng list is to provide a channel of communication between a distributed group of people. It is not necessarily appropriate or inappropriate for stupid questions. That is up to the group of people on the list. Before asking a question, see if the answer is already available. If it isn't, or if it is too obscure, then people won't mind the question. It is very annoying to answer a question with a good explanation, then shortly (5 minutes, 5 hours, 1 day, 2 days, whatever) see someone else ask the exact same question. The answer has been given, take it. A stupid question is one that ask for the answer that has already been given. -D -- Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
