gmc isn't terribly visually bletcherous, and doesn't suffer the bloat of Nautilus. If you're a clean desktop freak like me, you'll want to wipe all the crud off your desktop the first time it starts up. I don't run gmc all the time, but if I want to use a graphical file browser, it's a quick add. Konq would likely be my second choice. If you're inordinately fond of the WINGS widget set, there's FSViewer. I find it's unstable and the functionality isn't quite what I'm looking for. Peace. -- Karsten M.
