You can have someone burn the unofficial potato packages from fsn.hu. It has Ximian GNOME 1.4, XFree86 4.1.0, KDE 2.1 (official potato) and a lot others (postgresql 7, jre 1.3, etc.). I wouldn't recommend debianizing rpm's via alien. most rpm's are compiled dynamically with glibc 2.2.x. However, potato only has glibc 2.1, and you'll be in big trouble as you'll encounter too many dependency errors that alien-ing the rpm's ain't worth it.
