i have an geforce2 mx as well, running potato, the nvidia_kernel and
nvidia_glx, xfree 4.0.3 and believe me, unrealtournament at 1280x1024 at
32bits is f&^%$ng sweet ;-)
so, 4.1.0 is not mandatory, BUT since the 2.4.8-acsomething there are some
new implementations of DRI in the kernel, which are being used by Xfree4.1.0
but you can use 4.0.3 as well.. .works fine

^ hi ho... I will be installing Debian 2.2r3 (Potato) for the first time
soon, ^ but as I understand, it comes with XFree86 3.3.6. The problem is
that I ^ really need XFree86 4.1.0 (due to my NVidia GeForce2 MX).
