In my search for cdr softwre, I found cdrtools. This is a package of cd software from the author of cdrecord, J?rg Schilling. He has rewritten mkisofs, as well as other tools. You might find the answer to your question at ftp//fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/.
