Totally not my area of expertise...

Are you using a stock kernel?

If so, there is a file called /boot/config-`uname -r`

Look in there to see if you have a kernel compiled with support for the SCSI
device you have.

I'd try grepping for the string AIC, but I do not know if that is right.

Also grep for "SCSI"
