hi Mad question still stands....did you compile sslwrap on the server you are using it on that is also your pop3 server that you're wrapping its services ??
- random crashes sometimes could be incompatibilities between the binaries you run out-of-the-box and the upgraded/out-dated machine - since its only dies on pop3d wrapping... its a pretty safe bet that re-compiling both might solve the problem ??? ( try recompiling it ) - or keep looking for other causes to your random crashes geez... last post from me on this... c ya alvin On Wed, 9 May 2001, MaD dUCK wrote: > also sprach Alvin Oga (on Tue, 08 May 2001 08:38:10PM -0700): > > dont know why your sslwrap would die.... > > well thanks for the reply then... > > > did you compile sslwrap and ipop3d on a compatible box > > with the same versions of libs that is running on the > > secure pop3 server ?? > > do you know sslwrap? it has *nothing* to do with the pop3 server other > than relaying network traffic -> it decodes ssl traffic coming in at > port 995 and forwards it to localhost:110, and it encodes anything > localhost:110 spits out and sends it out to the client. so all > interaction that sslwrap and spop3d ever have is through the POP3 > protocol - and it's not the server that dies but the wrapper... and > only the POP3 wrapper because the IMAP wrapper is *never* used > (basically). >
