I did the following: make-kpkg clean make-kpkg -revision=custom.1.14 kernel_image make-kpkg -revision=custom.1.14 modules_image (make-kpkg complains about revision, I hit return.) dpkg -i kernel-image-2.2.18pre21_custom.1.14_i386.deb dpkg -i lm-sensors-2.2.18pre21_2.4.4-1+custom.1.14_i386.deb While rebooting I got a message of an unresolved symbol while modules-calculating. I believe it was gl518sm or gl520sm. And this is the errormessage, when I want to load the module. debian:/home/juh# modprobe i2c-piix4 /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/misc/i2c-piix4.o: init_module: Das Gerät oder die Ressource ist belegt Hint: this error can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/misc/i2c-piix4.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/misc/i2c-piix4.o failed /lib/modules/2.2.18pre21/misc/i2c-piix4.o: insmod i2c-piix4 failed The first line means device busy I think. There are no /dev/i2c files around. How can I create them. Is there a skript?
