I just had my Legend/QDI Advance-5 motherboard "upgraded" to an ASUS P3V133 (the QDI board died, and there were no more in stock) and now 'apm --suspend' no longer works. I enabled APM in the BIOS (Award), but when I run 'apm --suspend' the motherboard beeps 4 times and nothing happens. What now? (BTW, recompiling the kernel and running 'cd /dev/; ./MAKEDEV apm' didn't help.)
