man MAKEDEV cd /dev ./MAKEDEV <options you find useful> > does anybody know if it's okay to compile in the kernel the es1370 > support for a CT4700 card? or am i just screwed with this sound card? I have no experience with SB128, but the ALSA Project has full support dor SB128. www.alsa-project.org ALSA is a bit tricky to set up, but works. Nothing really new (the sound card will not make things other than sound), but to compile some software you may need ALSA. The Debian version is a bit old (even the frozen one), and then you must compile from source. May the Source be with you! Use the Source, Pat! Use the Source! Taupter
