I have this same type of problem when I try to use SCSI tape backup. I get simular error messages and the machine's load goes pretty high and sometimes needs to be rebooted.
I have had no luck getting the tape backup to work. this is the error i get: -- May 3 14:23:23 taz kernel: SCSI host 0 abort (pid 228089503) timed out - resetting May 3 14:23:23 taz kernel: SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0. -- We both have Adaptech controllers....... -- scsi0 : Adaptec AHA274x/284x/294x (EISA/VLB/PCI-Fast SCSI) 5.1.10/3.2.4 <Adaptec AIC-7880 Ultra SCSI host adapter> scsi1 : Adaptec AHA274x/284x/294x (EISA/VLB/PCI-Fast SCSI) 5.1.10/3.2.4 <Adaptec AIC-7860 Ultra SCSI host adapter> scsi2 : AMI MegaRAID U.75 254 commands 16 targs 2 chans scsi : 3 hosts. -- > -----Original Message----- > From: Rob Rati [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2000 4:15 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: 'debian-user@lists.debian.org' > Subject: Re: SCSI bus reset when burning > > > Here's what dmesg says about my scsi chain.
