its awful, isnt it ? windows just replaces your bootload, with no question and no conformation... but your system is not lost of course. just do the following: 1) boot from the Debian CD 2) change from the installation screen to a console (ALT F1 or ALT F2) 3) mount your root partition, for example: mount /dev/hda2 /mnt 4) if you have more than one partition, mount the partion with your binary files; i think lilo is at /usr/bin/ (not sure here): cd /mnt; mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/usr 5) change your root partition: chroot /mnt 6) now you are on your old system, edit lilo.conf and add needed lines to boot windows. 7) execute lilo: lilo Thats all.
